The bank transfer code
The bank transfer code is a type of mobile banking services, offered by banks which helps their customer for easy and fastest means of money transfer.
You can as well call it bank ussd code, which is usually a three digit number. Not only it is used for money transfer, you can use it for other bank services like airtime and mobile internet data recharge, checking of account balance and bvn, paying of bills and utilities, requesting for debit or credit card etc.
Why bank customers seems to love the mobile banking ussd code is because it doesn’t require internet connection, and can be used on type of mobile phone.
The bank sort code
Most people don’t know or understand what a sort code is all about, and maybe today is the very first time you’re hearing about it.
Sort code is a nine-digit hierarchical numerical, or a domestic bank code used to route money transfers between financial institutions.
This code is used to identify a bank or bank branch. Sort codes varies from bank to bank, for example uba sort code in Lagos is different from the uba sort code in Owerri.
But generally, you can use the bank general sort code which is the one of the headquarter.
The Swift Code
You can call it swift number or bic code, used to identify banks and financial institutions globally.
These codes are used when transferring money between banks, in particular for international wire transfers or SEPA payments. Banks also use these codes to exchanging messages.
Please don’t get confused on the swift code and sort code, swift code is used for international money transfer or services, while the sort code is used for local or domestic money transfer or services.
SWIFT codes identify bank branches for international payments. By doing this, they help banks to send your money to the right place.
